The Vine Tavern
330 E. Prentiss St.

These small, lightly breaded wings will make you break a sweat. They have a great bleu cheese and several imported beers. Uni.97 reports, "The Vine has a selection of sauces in a variety of "heat" as well as honey, barbecue and maple. Of course, the preferred choice is the hot. The wings are small but that makes them better. The orders are by the dozen so try a few kinds. These are by far the best wings I have ever had." Thanks Uni. Even though my preference is large wings, I know the appeal of the smaller, crispier wing. It has a fine taste and you can eat a lot more of them.
Steve adds, "These were the smallest wings I have ever seen. Two half bites took care of the large section of the wing. Their "super hot" wing was not "superhot" to this Texas native and was a very boring commercial vinegar based sauce. I had to order another dozen ($3.99) before I finished the first dozen. On the bright side, the beer was cold." Steve wasn't impressed, but on the other hand, he suffered through a second dozen.
